In every university faculty in Italy, the month of June marks a turning point in the summer exam sessions. For the students of the Management & Marketing graduate program at the Università di Bologna (UNIBO) Faculty of Economics, it was also the wrap up of the FAAC Technologies – HUB Parking business case project work.
We introduced here the quarter-long project work, whose results presentation took place during the very last lecture of the whole three-year program. We could not imagine a better conclusion to the Bachelor of Management and Marketing, than putting to the test the students’ proposals!
HUB Finance Controlling team Carlo Taurisano and Daniela Ramazza introduced FAAC Technologies and HUB Parking to the students, and explained the group work, that was a Business Case for the parking industry. Students would assess the viability of a very specific business model in the parking & mobility environment and make predictive assumptions on its evolution over time.
UNIBO students worked in groups (19 groups composed of 6 to 8 members) on the development of their business model and its supporting economic/financial analysis, along the entire quarter. They could reach out to the dedicated tutor within HUB and would be evaluated by UNIBO Professor Carlo Boschetti in May.
Following the evaluation, the 6 groups judged most interesting - based on the applicability and/or innovation of the proposal - presented in the classroom and answered questions from Carlo Taurisano and Professor Boschetti. The day was well attended and proved to be of true benefit for everyone involved.
In addition to the quality and challenge of the project, the students have highly valued the opportunity to apply to a real-life case the topics studied in the Strategy course, in the Management Controlling course and in the Corporate Finance course. They were able to touch upon the concreteness and the importance of cross-connecting different disciplines - which are usually taught as separate courses in the university - for the business.
The cooperation with Università di Bologna (UNIBO) has been a great exercise of knowledge transfer in a stimulating environment – a testimony to FAAC Technologies commitment with education and with the local community. We are glad to have had our HUB team involved!
