At FAAC Technologies, environmental sustainability is at the core of our company daily life. These days, we join in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), thatoffers a unique opportunity to promote concrete actions aimed at rethinking our relationship with food and raising awareness about its environmental, economic, and social impact.
This year, our HQ Bologna colleagues are leading the way by:
- contributing to a food drive donation to the "Cucine Popolari" Association
- enjoying anti-waste dishes prepared by the company restaurant chef
- receiving dedicated takeaway tips for limiting food waste from the #SimplyNOWaste team
In 2023, still through #SimplyNOWaste initiatives, we achieved significant progress in our environmental stewardship. Our waste reduction efforts were particularly noteworthy in the company restaurant, where we decreased average daily food waste per tray from 140 grams in 2022 to 66 grams.
Beyond food waste, we've made strides in other sustainability initiatives:
- reduced undifferentiated waste from 40% to 28%
- embraced smart working, saving approximately 451,000 kilometers of travel - equivalent to circling the globe 11 times!
- produced 73,000 kWh of electricity through our photovoltaic system
- reduced reliance on external water by an artesian well
- recycled 13.70 kg of cigarette butts through the RE-CIG project
